Had a fantastic long awaited shoot with Simon. After seeing the high quality of work in Simon's port I was in awe before we started. Simon came armed with plenty of ideas, was great at giving direction when needed and most of all patient and understanding with the horses as they're not always the most tolerant. Smart, funny, incredibly easygoing and fun to be with, moreover a very talented artist, Simon took some awesome photos of me in an abandoned warehouse and made impressively good use of the resources we had, including some rather elaborate setups which he engineered to great effect. Using both natural and artificial light, he was able to produce stunning images in exactly the styles he was aiming for. I worked with Simon on a location shoot in Liverpool. His organisation and pre shoot communication was faultless and really helpful. He gave me specific direction while modelling and had a very clear understanding of the style of shots he wanted, & also articulated this really well on the day. Having seen Simon's collection of work, I was initially struck by the amount of great images ... it is rare to see high quantity coupled with high quality. I then noticed that Simon does not compromise his work and makes sure it cannot be compromised - by the detailed instructions sent prior to our shoot. Finally, on the day of shooting it all flowed so smoothly - great improvisation skills based on experience and professionalism.
